RICHARD CARRICK
Richard’s music spans a number of musical genres, including chamber, orchestral, solo, multi-media works with video and electronics, and works for the theatre and film. All of his music stems from his deep roots in chamber music and musical performance -- but often branch out to the experimental realm to showcase musicality in other aspects of performance.
His chamber pieces (Flow Trio, Towards Qualia, la scene miniature, etc), explore the evolution of musical threads over time as they are passed from one instrument to the next. His multi-media works (Cosmicomics, European Images, etc) unify moving images and live sounds into a unique form of musical/visual/theatrical expression. His solo works (Natural Behaviour, “in flow”, Shadow Flow, Moroccan Flow, ∞ + 1, etc.) feature virtuosic and intensely compelling acrobatics for the soloist.
